How to verify which periods count for ADA
Whenever the attendance reports are not calculating absences correctly, it might have to do with the Bell Schedule setup and which periods count towards ADA.
To verify which periods count for ADA:
1. On the left hand side menu, click on School under the black heading Setup
2. Right click the Calendar Setup link under the black heading Calendaring and that link in a new tab
3. Under the Calendar Setup tab, verify which Bell Schedule is being used for the day in question simply by locating the day and viewing which Bell Schedule is assigned for that day
4. Once you have the name of the Bell Schedule, go back to the other tab and click on Bell Schedules under the black heading Calendaring
5. Click on Edit Schedule next to the Bell Schedule in question
6. Open each period in a separate tab by right clicking on the period # and clicking Open in New Tab
7. Those periods who have the box checked off for Counts for ADA, are the periods that count towards ADA
Let’s say a bell schedule counts three periods towards ADA and a student is enrolled in three classes with those periods that count towards ADA; if the student is not marked absent in all three periods, he will not come up as absent on the attendance reports. Students must be marked absent in all periods that count towards ADA in order to be properly marked as absent for that day.
